Steve Kass and Eric Bratcher discuss the outcome of the recent PJM capacity auction and what it means for electricity customers in PJM. The results of this past auction, and those coming up in the next two years, will provide clarity into future capacity prices that have been lacking for the last three years.

By partnering with the team at 5, the client drastically reduced energy costs on their supply agreement, securing 50% of the load through a renewable energy purchase, while also uncovering new funding sources for an energy efficiency project and cutting additional demand side costs.

Each year the entire 5 team gathers together for our annual All Hands event. In 2019, we held the first ever 5 Talent Show featuring 16 different acts. The show was opened and closed by the company's very own boy band, N-CINCO. Here they perform their tribute song to our head of Finance, Shashi Thoutireddy, with the instant classing "I'm Too Shashi."

The City of Mansfield entered a new era of energy management and cost control by engaging the team at 5 and exiting a large aggregation approach. They were hesitant at first to go out on their own but quickly found that they were joined by a robust team of engineers, analysts and client service reps through their new relationship with 5. The results also speak for themselves, over $9M in cost reductions through procurement and over $100k in savings each year through operational changes and tweaks throughout their water treatment facilities.

Houghton College had a number of exciting developments on their hands prior to engaging the team at 5 including a lighting retrofit project and a 2.6 MW solar array. 5 was able to join the Houghton College sustainability and finance teams to put all of the pieces together into a comprehensive strategy for energy procurement and demand-side management.
