Vanessa Kelley 

Vanessa began practicing law in August of 2007, and she has advised on a wide variety of transactional and litigation matters. During her more than 15 years as an attorney, Vanessa has served clients as a solo practitioner, at both small and large law firms and as an in-house counsel at a publicly-traded financial services company. Vanessa’s wide range of experience has helped her develop a practical approach to legal issues, which she uses for the benefit of 5’s stakeholders. Prior to joining the team at 5, Vanessa practiced at a large regional law firm, where she served provided outside general counsel services to an international private equity firm.

In her role as Assistant General Counsel at 5, Vanessa works closely with other members of the 5 team on a variety of corporate, contact and regulatory matters. Vanessa uses her extensive and varied experience to help find constructive, common-sense approaches to a wide range of legal concerns.

Vanessa received her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University and her undergraduate degree in International Business from St. Edward’s University.

Vanessa’s Why:  It’s easy to find businesses with smart and dedicated people. It’s much harder to find businesses with people who enjoy being together. The team at 5 fit both descriptions. As an attorney, whose role involves identifying and explaining risks, the culture and team spirit among the 5 team make it easy for me to discuss not only potential concerns but potential solutions.

Fun Fact:  While a practicing attorney, Vanessa also raced professionally as a triathlete.
